KRS-One, born Lawrence Parker (August 20, 1965), is a legendary American rapper, producer, and activist from the Bronx, known as "The Teacha," whose name means Knowledge Reigns Supreme Over Nearly Everyone, symbolizing his role as a conscious voice in hip-hop. Rising to fame with Boogie Down Productions (BDP) with DJ Scott La Rock, he pioneered hardcore and socially conscious rap, addressing issues like poverty and self-empowerment through hits like "Sound of da Police" and "My Philosophy," and later founded the Temple of Hip Hop to preserve the culture.
