ATLANTA (AP) — Rapper Young Thug surprised fans Saturday night when he proposed to singer-songwriter Mariah The Scientist during a live performance at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, turning a hometown concert into an emotional milestone moment.
Midway through the show, the Atlanta native paused the music and invited Mariah The Scientist onto the stage as the crowd erupted in cheers. Young Thug then dropped to one knee and presented her with a diamond ring, asking her to marry him. She accepted the proposal, embracing the rapper as fans inside the sold-out arena celebrated the moment.
“This is my city, and there was no better place to do it,” Young Thug told the crowd as applause and chants filled the venue.
The proposal quickly went viral as fans shared videos across social media, with clips capturing Mariah The Scientist visibly emotional as she showed off the ring under the arena lights.
